We know how important your pets are to you and your family. We provide high quality medicine which includes performing routine diagnostic tests and imaging. We have state of the art equipment that will help us determine the best plan for your pet.
We provide same day and in-house laboratory testing for most diagnostic as well as digital radiology and ultrasound. These modalities are useful in not only diagnosing medical conditions, but also in monitoring and management of diseases.
Below are our common blood tests that we use to access the health of your pet.
CBC (Complete Blood Count)
The CBC evaluates red blood cell health and efficiency of the immune system. It helps us detect anemia, immune disorders, and confirms suspicion for infectious diseases.
Chemistry
A blood chemistry evaluates internal organ function. This includes evaluating kidney and liver values, accessing blood glucose for signs of diabetes, and determining appropriate blood protein levels.
Urinalysis
A urinalysis helps us to evaluate kidney function, presence of infection, signs of diabetes, or causes for abnormal urination behavior.
Fecal Test
We evaluate stool samples for presence of parasites and for causes of diarrhea or gastrointestinal upset.
Skin and Ear Cytology
Cytology helps us to better examine what infectious agents or cells are present in your pets ears or skin. This is useful when abnormal skin lesions or lumps arise, or when your pet is shaking their ears and may have an infection.
Therapeutic Monitoring
With many medications, routine blood work is recommended to monitor the effects of these vital medications on the body. These tests can help us adjust medication doses and sometimes adjust medications that we use to provide the lowest side effects and best health for your pet. Many disease processes also require routine monitoring to determine the efficacy of the medications and whether adjustments need to be made.
We want to remain interactive with every aspect of your pet’s health. When we run these tests in house, we will show you images of what we find so that you can better understand what is affecting your pet. We can also email you all of your pet’s blood work results, including pictures of ear, skin, and urine cytology. These are also all available for viewing anytime on our online pet portal.
